- Swollen ovaries
- Swollen clitoris (very rare)
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Weight gain and obesity
- Estrogen level
- FSH level :FSH stands for follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). This hormone is released by the anterior pituitary gland.In women, FSH stimulates production of eggs and a hormone called estradiol during the first half of the menstrual cycle.
- LH level : The LH blood test measures the amount of luteinizing hormone (LH). LH is a hormone released by the pituitary gland.
- Male hormone (testosterone) level
- 17-ketosteroids : 17-ketosteroids are substances that form when the body breaks down male steroid sex hormones called androgens and other hormones released by the adrenal glands in males and females and in the testes in males
Other blood tests that may be done include:
- Fasting glucose (blood sugar) and other tests for glucose intolerance and insulin resistance
- Lipid level
- Pregnancy test (serum HCG)
- Prolactin level:Prolactin is a hormone released by the pituitary gland that stimulates breast development and milk production in women.
- Thyroid function tests
- Vaginal ultrasound
- Pelvic laparoscopy : Pelvic laparoscopy is surgery to examine pelvic organs using a viewing tool called a laparoscope. The surgery is also used to treat certain diseases of the pelvic organs.
